Alright, so you keep hearing all the cool kids talking about HTML5. You know it’s almost certainly better than HTML4 and a hell of a lot better than HTML3. But what does it all mean? At the end of the day, what does anything mean?

Well, I’ll tell you. HTML5 means web sites that shatter the imagination into a million little pieces that each become their own universe with a billion galaxies. Imagine the power!

Spend 3 hours with Patrick Lauke, web evangelist in Opera’s Developer Relations team and master of standards, and he’ll endow you with this superpower. Think native audio and video, canvas, and powerful new APIs like the Geolocation API. This workshop will kickstart your HTML5 knowledge and show you how you can start to use HTML5’s new features and functionalities today! But remember, with great power comes great responsibility.

Please note: Workshops take place on Thursday (October 21st). Entrance to the conference on Friday (October 22nd) requires a separate ticket. You can attend a workshop on Thursday, even if you do not plan to attend the conference on Friday. We will be giving away four tickets for Friday, October 22nd, to people who register for workshops. (One free Friday ticket is being given away for each workshop. Winners will be chosen randomly.)
